State announces roadwork

All roadwork is weather permitting.

The state Department of Transportation has announced the following roadwork for this week:

Near Laupahoehoe, intermittent single-lane closures on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between Stevens Road and Old Mamalahoa Highway Tuesday through Friday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. daily, for slope stabilization and road resurfacing.

In Honokaa, 24-hour single lane closures on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) in alternating directions between Kapuna Road and Pikake Street, near the 44-mile marker, for road reconstruction. A temporary traffic signal will be placed in the area to control traffic around the work site.

Near Kalaoa, Kona, alternating-lane closures on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190), in both directions between Old Kona Village Road and Huehue Ranch Road between the 27- and 31-mile markers, Tuesday through Friday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. to install guardrails and stripe the pavement.

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.
